Woodsholm Farm

Newcastle, ME

We believe farming is soul work. We are happiest when outside with our hands in the dirt, participating in the interwoven web of life that surrounds us. Farming is our dharma. It feels right in our hearts, even if our bodies are protesting, and we highly value the rewards of our physical labors. Farming enables us the opportunity to work for ourselves, on land that bestows great gifts, as we cycle with the seasons, engaging in all tasks involved from beginning to end. Growing food offers us the space to engage with other vegetable and herb lovers', as we contribute to a healthier, more vital world. We believe in the inherent value of our work and the independence it offers our customers and us from being beholden to the corporate and industrial food system. We are dedicated to creating a home economy and expanding and gaining the skills necessary to make this happen. We want to contribute to the shifting paradigm where small, local, and community connection is valued and supported above large, corporate, anonymous interactions. Farming is a livelihood that nourishes our beings, our bellies, the soil with which we work, our customer's appetites, and our local community's economic strength and vitality. We cannot think of a more radical or satisfying endeavor.
