Since the first Amiga 1000 came out in 1985, I have been an avid Amiga fan. I keep track of the farm records, do some desktop publishing and database management on the side, browse and weave the web, and manage e-mail with an Amiga 4000.

I am unable to fathom why so many first time computer users fall into the Wintel trap. Perhaps it's because so many people just do as they are told. Yet it is very important not to let the giant Micro$oft and Intel monopolies control the computer market any more than they already have. There is a movement afoot among web users to keep the net as accepting of alternative platforms as possible. To this purpose, the Convergence International Organization is promoting all non-Wintel platforms simply because they all offer viable computing alternatives to monopoly computing. If you don't believe in monopolies, then don't support them!
