Maine Mall Farmers' Market

1. The market will be open from mid May through October of each year with the specific dates to be determined at the annual meeting.

2. Each stall space is 10' x 10'. The management committee may authorize multiple stalls.

3. After one vehicle has been parked in the stall space, for safety reasons all vehicles bringing additional products to that stall after ____(to be announced) may not drive on to the market area to deliver them, but must park in the parking lot to do so.

4. Displayed merchandise must stay within the 10' x 10' width of the stall. Members must leave a minimum 10' aisle through the displayed merchandise so that customers can easily walk up and down the market. Members must not encroach on another member's space or obstruct access to it. Management Committee may authorize larger stalls for May and June.

5. No member may arrive, set up, and sell earlier than one hour before the market opens and all members must leave the market within one hour after the closing time.

6. Each member shall keep a neat stall at all times. Each member is responsible for cleaning up the stall and the grounds around it after each market day. Shirts and shoes must be worn by members and their employees during market hours. All required health regulations must be followed.

7. Any product not raised or processed by the vendor must be approved by a majority vote of the membership. No more than 25% of the vendor's annual sales may be "buy- ins". New/or different products may be introduced following a majority vote of the membership.

8. Any produce or product not grown or produced by the member farmer which is offered for sale at the member's stall must be clearly and prominently so labeled with the name and location of the farm from which it originated. The size of the labels shall be in proportion to the size of the display, the minimum size being 3' x 5'.

9. Prices of all items must be clearly and prominently posted.

10. Each member's stall shall be clearly identified with the member's name, or the farm's name and the location of the farm.

11. All items offered for sale at the market must be of high quality and/or workmanship.

12. Any product offered for sale at a member's stall, whether it is produced or purchased for resale by a member, or under consignment or traded to a member, is the sole responsibility and liability of that member in regard to quality or safety of that product.

13. Members must permit a visual inspection of their farm by the officers of the Market in order to verify statements made in the application form, or to determine if a violation of the bylaws or regulations has occurred. Visual inspection of the member's farm may be the only way to resolve an issue. In addition, signed written proof showing when and where a product or produce was purchased for resale at the market must also be available for inspection.

14. The following activities by any member or the member's family or employees are prohibited:

A. Violent, disorderly, or threatening behavior at the market or at any market meeting.
B. Presentation at the market of poor quality produce as defined in the guidelines promulgated by the Quality Control Committee.
C. Any violation of any health laws or regulations in connection with the production or marketing of the member's produce or goods.

15. The market will require insurance and licenses from members.

16. No hawking is permitted at the market.

17. Product sampling is permitted only within the space of the provider.

18. Consumption of alcoholic beverages at the market is prohibited.

19. A vendor sign-up sheet will be created at the beginning of the market year listing the market days on which each vendor plans to participate. This information will be listed on the application form. It is the responsibility of each vendor to notify the Market Manager if they can not participate on a market day.

20. Vendors may leave the market on the days they sell out of produce / product.

21. The Maine Mall Management reserves the right to prohibit sales of any product.

22. Vendors may temporarily move with the approval of the Market Manager.

23. Extra market days may be added with the majority vote approval by the membership.
