Appleton Creamery

Appleton Creamery is a small-scale family farm on 6 acres. Our herd of 60 alpine dairy goats have access to five wooded acres and are never confined, and are milked from March to December. Milk from our goats as well as local sheep and cow milk is processed daily and hand crafted into many varieties of award-winning fresh and aged cheeses, yogurt, and butter using traditional methods. We also offer goat’s milk fudge and goat’s milk soap.

We will be at market Saturdays only all season, and at the winter market from December through April. We also attend the Bath, Damariscotta, Rockland, Camden, Union, and Belfast Farmers’ Markets.

The Black Bear Food Guild is a small, motivated group of students at the University of Maine, growing three acres of organic vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Some of us are studying sustainable agriculture, some have grown up on farms, and for some of us, this is our first farming experience. However, we all share a common belief: sustainable, organic farming produces the best produce!

Bread Box Bakery is a small in-home bakery. I make sourdough breads, focacias, Italian breads, hearth breads and some sweet items like pies, muffins and cinnamon rolls. While specializing in a wide variety of old world breads, I also do special orders for holidays and special occasions, just give me a call and I’ll see what I can do for you. I also make a variety of cookies, pies, hummus, bruschetta, and tepenade. My pies are made from scratch and when possible use local fruit. The crust is made with vegetable shortening, flour, water, and salt. The crackers are wonderful too! I have been in business for about 15 years and my business is fully lisenced, state inspected, and insured.

I will be at market on Saturdays from May through November. I also attend the Northeast Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Castine, Blue Hill, and Bar Harbor Farmers’ Markets.

The Flower Farm

The Flower Farm grows and markets many varieties of field-grown cut flowers from our farm in Unity. We have plots of both annuals and perennials from which we pick flowers at the perfect time to ensure that our garden bouquets last from 5-7 days in the vase. We deliver fresh flowers to individuals and businesses in the Unity/Belfast area throughout the summer and strive to satisfy our customers’ flower needs for weddings and other special occasions. Many varieties are dried throughout the season so that by September we have a large selection of everlastings to sell as mixed bouquets or as bunches of individual varieties so that customers can create their own bouquets. See us at the Orono Farmers’ Market from July to October!

We milk 25 sheep and goats raised on pasture with lots of love and we buy in organic cow’s milk and some additional sheep’s milk.

Good Hike bars strives to deliver a healthy local granola bar using as many local ingredients as possible. When we are out hiking, camping, biking or anything else fun, we like to eat something good, quick and healthy. We were tired of buying granola bars from some big company far away and wanted to create an affordable bar made right here in Maine.

Good Hike Bars are made with ingredients purchased from local Maine Farmers. They are all natural and really, really tasty. They are more affordable than the bars you will find in the store, packed with as much nutrition and they are made locally with local ingredients.

We are using minimal packaging on all of our bars in respect of the Earth. Our bars come in four delicious varieties, including one baked just for your dog. We will have samples at our stand each Tuesday and Saturday all spring and summer.

We look foreword to meeting you this summer!

We plan to be at market on Tuesday and Saturday all season long and attend the winter market as well.

We make a fresh unpasteurized butter from our Jersey- and Gurnsey-cross cows, and offer it in pound and half pound sizes. We offer a salted, lite salt and no salt options as well as buttermilk, skim milk and cream.

We’ll be at all the Saturday summer and winter markets.

This year we’ll have 16,000 strawberry plants beginning to produce. We grow them on raised beds on black plastic to assure the cleanest of berries.

We will be at market on Tuesday & Saturday during strawberry season in July. We will have berries as long as they last. We will also have u-pick and a stand for those who don’t want to pick. Open 7am–8pm Mon-Sunday in July. Call to be sure we are not picked out.

Irish Daisy Bakery

We are a home-based, allergy friendly and vegan bakery. This means all of our products are free of gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, and any animal derived ingredient. All of our products are processed on dedicated equipment. In addition to farmers’ markets, we sell to the Natural Living Center, Giacomo’s, and The Store Ampersand; and distribute our cake mix through the Crown of Maine Coop.

We use Maine ingredients where possible, including buckwheat, applesauce, Bakewell Cream, maple syrup, and maple sugar. We try to keep the cost low because we know first hand how expensive allergy friendly products can be.

We will be at market on Saturdays all season long and at the Winter Markets. We also attend the Brewer and Hermon Farmers’ Markets.

We grow almost every vegetable (especially tomatoes, salad mixes and garlic) also culinary and medicinal herbs, sprouts, cut flowers, baked goods, and gourmet edible mushrooms. We grow and/or wildcraft herbs to make a variety of teas, tinctures, salves, oils, bath products, and herbal sachets. We also offer shiatsu massage (on site at market!) and original art. We’ll be at market all season long, Tuesdays and Saturdays. We also attend the Waterville, Augusta and Belfast Farmers’ Markets.

Meadowsweet Farm

Meadowsweet Farm is a 120 acre farm where we raise sheep and beef cattle on pasture using a planned grazing system. Sheep and cattle are grass fed and grass finished, receiving no grain, hormones or antibiotics to promote growth. Our meat is sold frozen, by the cut; also available by pre-order in freezer packages. We offer CSA meat shares. Gardens managed organically since 1994. We have 3 horses, layer hens, barnyard bantams, Pilgrim geese and raise meat chickens in summer. We sell sheepskins and handspinning fleece, decorated eggs, felted items, feather bouquets and wool blankets. Farm visits are by appointment.

We will start the season off with a huge crop of long stem French Tulips in mid-May, followed by delphinium, peonies and Gerber Daisies arrive at the market in June.   • We produce ice cream in our small plant in Monroe, Maine. We use all natural milk, cream and sugar (no high fructose corn syrup). We use all natural flavorings and extracts, Maine fruit and maple syrup whenever possible. Our Carpigiani batch freezer was made in Bologna, Italy and makes about 2.5 gallons of ice cream in 10 minutes. Our blast freezer quickly chills the ice cream down to -20 degrees so ice crystals don’t form. Our overrun is small (the amount of air whipped into the mix) resulting in a rich and creamy ice cream treat. We can be followed on Facebook as MobileCone.

Sugar Mouse Sorbet is traditional Ecuadorian sorbet made using a bronze “paila” (similar to a wok). The sorbet is hand churned in the paila over a bed of ice and straw. The ingredients used are: fruit, a small amount of egg white, sugar and water. Fruit will be organic and from Maine when possible. We will produce on a small scale and bring several gallons to market while the rest will be produced on site. We’ll be at market in June, July and August on both Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Located on Maine’s rugged and beautiful Downeast coast, Tide Mill Farm has been in the Bell family for nine generations. Tide Mill Creamery was founded in 2010, born of a passion for the precious connections between food and place. We take joy in crafting certified organic yogurt and cheese in small batches in our licensed creamery right on the farm. Our herd of sixty Nubian goats rotationally browse the woodland pastures around our home. We get our cows milk comes from Rachel’s cousin, Aaron, of Tide Mill Organic Farm, whose herd grazes the farm’s seaside pastures all summer.

We offer whole milk yogurt, Greek yogurt, kefir, raw goat milk, chevre, camembert, an evolving array of aged cheeses, and a line of fermented products including sauerkraut, ginger carrots, and kim chi in pints and quarts.

We will be attending market on Tuesdays only for the months of July, August and September. We also attend the Ellsworth, Town Hill, and Lubec Farmers’ Markets and have a farmstand on Tide Mill Farm.
